The idea for Next Tally Concepts was born out of my strong passion for helping people, and particularly young aspiring journalists, athletes, performing artists and those helplessly struggling to get out of their own way! I come from a place and time where (like many places) opportunities are fleeting. So, when you were blessed and lucky enough to get an opportunity to shine based on your talents, you had to capitalize on it and frankly, try not to F it up with a misstep. And it’s still like that! All too often, we see people in the public spotlight (rookies and many times even veteran celebs) torpedo their careers due to the overuse of the most powerful organ on their bodies: the tongue.
Even the most innocent utterance on TV or radio, or on social media can take a huge toll out of your fan base,industry standing (hell, your paycheck). And it absolutely kills me to watch over and over how some of ourfavorite young icons trip over their tongues or make gestures which unfortunately get misinterpreted by thepublic. I have to admit some of it is egregious. Some of you all are certified crazy! I digress. But in any case, bythe time it hits the media, it’s over. I won’t mention the names or examples of people who are currently sitting onthe sidelines or in their living rooms “watching” the sport or performance that they once excelled at. Because oftheir tongue. And the problem? Well, when you’re all of a sudden sitting on a pile of cash and you’re an up-and-coming star in the NBA or NFL or in any profession, who’s going to tell you no? Who’s going to tell (fill in theblank) how he or she is supposed to conduct themselves in public or to “pump the brakes”? Not if they want toremain in the inner circle and be part of the “po$$e”…feel me?
